These are the people dedicated to empowering parents, while nurturing babies. They are committed to making parents’ lives easier as they bring new babies into the world and into their homes.

Types of baby care specialists include:

  • Labor doulas (supporting parents during the birth process)

  • Postpartum doulas (“mother’s helpers” and daytime and overnight caregivers/“night nurses”)

  • Lactation consultants (assisting parents with all of baby’s feeding needs)

  • Sleep consultants (providing parents with guidance and tools to create good sleep habits)

  • Nursery and home consultants (helping parents ensure a safe environment at home)

  • Car seat technicians (ensuring car seats are properly installed and safely positioned for baby)

  • Midwives( trained health professional who helps healthy women during labor, delivery, and after the birth of their babies.

  • Newborn Care Specialist (individual trained and skilled in newborn care.)
